Guidelines for Participation & Conduct of Kho-Kho and Handball in EPFO Sports
Calendar – 2025-26
1. Introduction
1.1. In continuation of the annual EPFO Sports Calendar, two new games—“Kho-Kho and Hand ball” are being
introduced from the year 2025-26. These games will be conducted for both Men’s and Women’s categories.
1.2. In order to gauge the level of participation and generate enthusiasm for these new games, it has been
decided that these games will be held directly at the All-India level in the first year of introduction. If positive
response is received, the format will be further expanded in future years.
1.3. No separate zonal tournaments will be conducted for these two games in 2025-26.
2. Organising Structure
2.1. Level of Competition: Direct All India Tournament for both Men’s and Women’s categories in Kho-Kho and
Handball.
2.2. Team Formation: Each zone (East, West, North, South, and Central) shall field one team per category
(Men& Women) in each game.
2.3. Following RSPBs have been nominated for selection/formation of Zonal team (2.3.1) and to conduct the
Handball and Kho-Kho at All India level for the year 2025-26 (2.3.2) –

2.4. President of RSPBs nominated at 2.3 shall ensure the selection of team from amongst the players of all
RSPBs of Sports Zone, with minimum of 1(one) and maximum 3(three) players from each RSPB.
* The decision of the President of nominated Regional Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) in the selection/formation
of teams shall be final and binding on all concerned, and no appeal shall be entertained against such decision.
3. Selection Process
3.1. Zonal Selection Trials: The Nodal Office (RSPB) will conduct team’s selection in a manner suited to the
zone, ensuring fair opportunity and adequate representation from all the offices under their respective Zone.
3.2. Team Composition:
Kho-Kho: 12 players (9 playing + 3 substitutes).
Handball: 10 players (7 playing+3 substitutes).
Additional: 2 Managers (1 for Men’s category + 1 for Women’s category) combined for both teams
from one zone.
4. Tournament Rules & Regulations
4.1. Governing Rules: Kho-Kho will be conducted under the rules of the Kho-Kho Federation of India (KKFI).
Handball will be conducted under the rules of the Handball Federation of India (HFI).
4.2. Match Duration
Kho-Kho: Two innings per match; 9 minutes chasing + 5 minutes break + 9 minutes chasing.
Handball: Two halves of 30 minutes each, with a 10-minute halftime breaks.
5. Format
5.1. League format.
5.2. Points System:
Win – 2 points
Draw – 1 point
Loss – 0 points
5.3. Uniform & Equipment- Each team manager must ensure that all the players must wear uniform/kits as
decided by CSPB. The host will arrange match equipment; teams should bring personal gear.
6. Reporting & Conduct
6.1. All teams must report at the venue as per schedule provided by the head office. All participants are expected
to maintain discipline and sportsmanship as per EPFO’s Code of Conduct. Misconduct may result in
disqualification of the player/team and disciplinary action.
7. Awards & Recognition
8.1. Trophies for Winners & Runners-up in each category. Certificates for all participating players. Best Player
award in each category based on performance.
8.2 The Winning Trophy shall be handed over to the RSPB nominated under Clause 2.3, who will retain it on
behalf of the winning team’s zone/office.
