Sub: Participation of MSMEs in overseas projects under implementation by HMT(I).
Greetings from HMT(International) Limited.
You may be kindly aware that, HMT(International) Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of HMT Ltd, a Government of India Enterprise under Department of Heavy Industry, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, is implementing various projects for Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for many years.
HMT(I), a Mini-Ratna company of Government of India, an ISO 9001:2015 company was established during the year 1974 for exporting HMT products across the world. With technical expertise in Machine Tools technology, HMT(I) gradually started implementing turnkey projects like Technical Training Centers, Vocational Training Centers, Information Technology Centers and others for MEA in various countries Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Belize, Indonesia, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Mozambique, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nigeria, Senegal, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Turkmenistan, UAE, Zambia, Zimbabwe, etc.
I wish to bring to your kind notice that, through these projects HMT(I) has been developing many MSMEs to manufacture export quality products and promoting their products in overseas markets.

HMT(I) is currently implementing following projects on behalf of MEA, which are in procurement stage:
- Setting up of Indo-Myanmar Industrial Training Centre (IMITC) Thaton, Myanmar
- Five Years Comprehensive Maintenance Plan to Indo-Myanmar Industrial Training Centre (IMITC), Myingyan, Myanmar
- Upgradation of INDO-ZIM Technology Centres in Zimbabwe
- Setting up of India-Equatorial Guinea Vocational Training Center in Malobo, Equatorial Guinea
I also wish to bring to your kind notice, MEA payment process generally takes 2-3 months from the date of shipment from India. Hence, HMT(I) has to float tenders with payment term as 60 days from the date of delivery to shipping agent.
In this connection, I request your goodself to encourage MSMEs to participate in the tender with the above payment term, in order to have more MSMEs in our panel.
