सा.का.जन. 778(अ).—केन्द्रीय सरकार, जर्जधक मापजर्ज्ञान अजधजनयम, 2009 (2010 का 1) की धारा 52 की
उपधारा (2) के खंड (ञ) और (थ) द्वारा प्रदत्त िजक्तयों का प्रयोग करते हुए, जर्जधक मापजर्ज्ञान (पैक में रखी र्स्ट्तुएं)
जनयम, 2011 का और संिोधन करने के जलए जनम्नजलजखत जनयम बनाती है, अथावत् :-
1. संजिप्त नाम और प्रारंभ - (1) इन जनयमों का संजिप्त नाम जर्जधक मापजर्ज्ञान (पैक में रखी र्स्ट्तुएं) संिोधन जनयम,
2025 है।
(2) र्े रािपत्र में उनके प्रकािन की तारीख को लागू होंगे।
2. जर्जधक मापजर्ज्ञान (पैक में रखी र्स्ट्तुएं) जनयम, 2011 (जिसे इसमें इसके पश्चात् मूल जनयम कहा गया है) में, जनयम 2
के, खंड (ि) में, जनम्नजलजखत परंतुक अंत: स्ट्थाजपत दकया िाएगा, अथावत्: -
"परंतु यह दक जचदकत्सा युजक्तयां अंतर्वर्ष्ट करने र्ाले पैकेिों के जलए, घोषणाएं करने हेतु जचदकत्सा युजक्त जनयम, 2017 के
उपबंध लागू होंगे;"।

3. मूल जनयमों के, जनयम 7 में, -
(i) उप-जनयम (2) में, अंत में जनम्नजलजखत परंतुक अंत:स्ट्थाजपत दकया िाएगा, अथावत्: -
"परंतु यह दक जचदकत्सा युजक्तयां अंतर्वर्ष्ट करने र्ाले पैकेिों के जलए, घोषणा करने हेतु दकसी भी अंक और अिर की ऊंचाई
के जलए, जचदकत्सा युजक्त जनयम, 2017 के उपबंध लागू होंगे।";
(ii) उप-जनयम (3) में, अंत में जनम्नजलजखत परंतुक अंत:स्ट्थाजपत दकया िाएगा, अथावत्: -
"परंतु यह दक जचदकत्सा युजक्तयां अंतर्वर्ष्ट करने र्ाले पैकेिों के जलए, घोषणा करने हेतु दकसी भी अंक और अिर की चौडाई
के जलए, जचदकत्सा युजक्त जनयम, 2017 के उपबंध लागू होंगे।"
4. मूल जनयमों में, जनयम 33 उप-जनयम (1) के रूप में संख्यादकत होगा और इस प्रकार संख्यांदकत जनयमों के पश्चात्,
जनम्नजलजखत उप-जनयम अंत:स्ट्थाजपत दकया िाएगा, अथावत्: -
"(2) उस दिा में िहां जचदकत्सा युजक्त जनयम, 2017 लागू होते हैं, इस जनयम के अधीन ददया गया जिथलीकरण लागू नहीं
होगा।”

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 23rd October, 2025.
G.S.R. . 778(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by (j) and (q) of sub-section (2) of section 52 of the
Legal Metrology Act, 2009 (1 of 2010), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend
the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011, namely:-
1.
Short title and commencement. – (1) These rules may be called the Legal Metrology (Packaged
Commodities) Amendment Rules, 2025.
(2)
They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official gazette.
2. In the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011 (hereinafter referred to as the principal rules), in
rule 2, to clause (h), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-
―Provided that for packages containing medical devices, the provisions of the Medical Devices Rules, 2017,
shall apply to make declarations;‖.

In the principal rules, in rule 7,-
(i)
in sub-rule (2), the following proviso shall be inserted at the end, namely:-
―Provided that for packages containing medical devices, the provisions of the Medical Devices Rules, 2017,
shall apply for the height of any numeral and letter to make declarations.‖;
(ii)
to sub-rule (3), the following proviso shall be inserted at the end, namely:-
―Provided that for packages containing medical devices, the provisions of the Medical Devices Rules, 2017,
shall apply for the width of any numeral and letter to make declarations.‖.

4. In the principal rules, rule 33 shall be numbered as sub-rule (1) and after the rules as so number, the following
sub-rule shall be inserted, namely:-
―(2) In case where the Medical Devices Rules, 2017 are applicable, the relaxation given under this rule shall
not apply.‖.
